Ewing news, New Jersey news.

New Jersey police said that a man who had been organizing a “Corona Party” in a 550-square-foot apartment in Ewing was arrested and charged on Friday night.

Wade E. Jackson, 47, was charged with violating an emergency act and obstruction of the administration of the law. A DJ and 47 people were found partying, defying the social-distancing instructions.

“Can’t believe I have to say this at all, let alone for the second time. But here we are: NO CORONA PARTIES. They’re illegal dangerous, and stupid,” Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted Saturday. “We will crash your party. You will pay a big fine. And we will name & shame you until EVERYONE gets this message into their heads.”

On Saturday, the state recorded 2,289 new COVID-19 cases while the death toll reached 140.
