Lakewood news, New Jersey news.

On Thursday, an angry Phil Murphy addressed New Jersey residents saying that it was time to “cut the crap” after many people have defied the social distancing orders, hosting pop-up weddings and gatherings at their homes in Lakewood.

“We want the public to know that we have heard and share their concerns regarding gatherings of more than 50 people and have taken action against those who have failed to comply,” Gov. Murphy said.

Authorities said that 49-year-old Eliyohu Zaks and 43-year-old Shaul Kuperwasser were arrested in connection with the events after police broke up large gatherings at their homes, including a wedding.

“We have got to ensure compliance, no matter what the circumstances are. It will be enforced aggressively,” Murphy warned.
