Montcalm County news, Michigan news.

A homicide investigation is conducted by Michigan State Police after they found a baby girl dead and covered with blood in a Michigan residence on March 2.

At around 5:30 a.m., officers were called to a Montcalm County house. Once inside, they found Vayda Vasquez, 2-year-old, “not breathing, and lying in a pool of blood. She died at the scene after several unsuccessful attempts to revive her.

The toddler was in the care of her maternal grandmother, Tonia Rose, with whom she lived since having 5-month-old. At the time of the tragedy, Rose left her granddaughter with a babysitter and went to work late that night.

Vasquez’s grieving dad said: “I hope that whoever did this gets what they deserve. She was an angel, I should never have to bury my daughter.”
