A southern Euclid man was shot in the leg on Friday because of the way he threw the ashes of his black and soft cigar.
The shooting took place around 20 hours. Sunday on Quebec Avenue, near 93rd Street East, in the Fairfax neighborhood.
The 25-year-old man told police he was standing on the porch smoking a cigar when a man he did not know approached and shouted at him, police said.
A dispute broke out and the other man pulled out a pistol and shot him once in the left thigh, police said. The gunman ran away and was not arrested.
The 25-year-old's cousin heard the argument and the shot and found his injured cousin on the porch, police reports said.
The man was taken to university hospitals for treatment.
