A 55-year-old mother-in-law was sentenced to death in 2016 for the death of her child, found strangled in the bathtub at her home in New York.
Prosecutors say Shamdai Arjun faces up to 25 years in prison after a jury found her guilty of murdering Ashdeep Kaur, 9, in 2016.
Prosecutors said an eyewitness saw Arjun and his ex-husband leave the Queen's house with two grandchildren.
Prosecutors said the eyewitness called the victim's father who ordered him to break the bathroom door. She did it and found the girl strangled in the bathtub.
The ex-husband was arrested for obstructing the government administration.
