A Texas man allegedly shot dead his relative after he was asked to contribute to the family’s finances and pay rent.
Angel Gomez Montanez, 21, had reportedly been staying for three months at his family members’ home before they asked him to pay rent.
The suspect left the home briefly and returned on June 12, threatening to kill everyone before fatally shooting 18-year-old Christopher Rodriguez Lara.
“The only thing we told him is we needed the money for rent,” Lara’ sister-in-law said, identifying the suspect as her children’s older brother.
“I told him this can’t be happening. We have bills to pay.”
Witnesses said Montanez tried to shoot Lara’s brother. A 9-year-old heard him say: “I’m going to kill all of them.”
