A Kentucky mother is facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly struck her 6-year-old daughter with a hammer multiple times.
Officers responded to the Louisville home at around 12:45 p.m. Thursday and found the girl suffering from blunt force injuries to the head.
The victim was rushed to Norton Children’s Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.
Zeinab Abdi, 40, allegedly told detectives that her daughter “frequently becomes extremely angry and has difficulty controlling herself.”
She reportedly admitted that she became angry at the girl and struck her in the head with a hammer several times.
Abdi’s son told officers that his mother told him, “Let me finish her,” while he was restraining her and tried to get back to attack the girl.
