Three people were killed in a tragic double murder-suicide at a west Harris County apartment, authorities said.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the incident unfolded at around 9:20 a.m. Saturday at an apartment complex on Park Row Drive near North Fry Road.
The 42-year-old father turned the gun on himself after fatally shooting his 43-year-old wife and 7-year-old son, the sheriff said.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The father was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
“It’s our understanding that there may have been some growing mental health issues, specifically some depression,” Gonzalez said.
“Lately, the adult male didn’t have a job and had been going through other issues, and possibly sought some treatment recently.”
