Authorities in Broward County, Florida, announced this week a breakthrough in a 50-year-old cold case involving two teen best friends.

On May 22, the office’s cold case homicide unit announced that detectives had identified Robert Clark Keebler and Lawrence Stein as the killers of Darlene Zetterower and Barbara Schreiber, who were 14 at the time of their deaths.

The two girls had just received their eighth-grade report cards on June 18, 1975, when they got into a white van with the two men in Hollywood.
