An Indiana man allegedly admitted to choking his 5-year-old death during a fight with his ex-girlfriend Monday morning, police said.
Zachary Arnold, 41, called police to his Indianapolis residence at 11 a.m. First responders pronounced 5-year-old Zara Arnold dead at the scene.
After initially claiming that Zara died “after falling down the stairs”, Arnold eventually admitted to choking her while being angry at his ex-girlfriend.
The woman told detectives that Arnold lashed out at Zara for not following his rules, adding that he sent her photos of the girl “foaming at the mouth.”
Zara’s grandmother accused Arnold of abusing the girl, smacking her with open hands, depriving her of food and using meth in front of her.
“I’m mad. I’m very disappointed because my granddaughter should be here,” O’Tonya Glasco said.
