A Texas man was arrested at a poker club hours after he allegedly gunned down his elderly father and stepmother at their Spring home.
A neighbor discovered the bodies of Franklin Frakes, 72, and Florentina Frakes, 56, on Friday evening after hearing gunshots the previous night.
Police believe Benjamin Frakes, 39, broke into the couple’s home and got into a fight with his father that left the suspect injured before shooting the two victims multiple times.
Officers found a “sizable” amount of cocaine, Xanax, Oxycodone, and “other unknown substances” inside the suspect’s vehicle.
A neighbor recalled seeing the couple just hours before they were murdered.
“They were out there watering their plants. Quiet night – that’s all it was. Nothing out of the ordinary,” he said.
