A Washington teen was killed while riding his electric bike into a suspended cable, authorities said.
Emiliano Munoz, 13, sustained severe head trauma and significant damage to a vocal chord.
Munoz was riding his bike along an Everett street when he decided to take a shortcut through a field and struck a braided cable strewn between a fence and a traffic bollard.
The teen was taken off life support three days after the incident, on May 5.
The homeowner said the cable had been installed by a previous owner years ago.
The boy’s family said the cable was “dangerously placed.”
“Now it cost somebody their life, their entire life is gone. These parents, their whole life is destroyed,” a family friend said.
