Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene laughed off protests that erupted outside a town hall she held in suburban Atlanta late Tuesday.
At least three people were arrested at Greene’s event, including two who were tasered, and several others were escorted out for being disruptive.
“This is a town hall; this is not a political rally; this is not a protest,” Greene told the crowd as she repeatedly said “Bye” to those led out of the room by officers.
Greene answered supporters’ questions, praising President Donald Trump’s agenda, including the recent tariffs.
“What am I going to do? I am going to stand by my president,” Greene said, vowing to “fight for his agenda with everything I have in Congress.”
“Don’t be ‘panican’. That’s a new word President Trump came up with. You see, look, it took us decades to get here–decades to get the $36 trillion in debt. It took decades for our factories to get shut down and our jobs sent overseas,”
“It took decades for us to all fall into this terrible – it’s basically a grave that America has been put in and dug by our federal government.”
