A Tennessee lineman died while working during strong storms that hit the Carroll County area earlier this month.
“Our hearts are with the family and friends of Chance Carlton, who lost his life while working during the recent storms,” the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said.

Mayor Joseph Butler also paid tributes to Carlton, who died in the line of duty trying to help the impacted community.
“We are truly heartbroken in the passing of Carroll County’s own, Chance Carlton,” Butler said.
“Having known Chance his entire life, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he was the best of the best.”
