5 injured after corporate plane skids off Oregon runway into water

Five people were injured Monday when a small corporate plane skidded off a runway and fell into the water at a southern Oregon airport, officials said.

The pilot and four passengers of the aircraft were rescued and are in stable condition after the incident at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport.

  • The 2019 Honda HA-420 was coming from St. George, Utah, to North Bend when it left the runway and ended up in Coos Bay about 100 feet past the end of the runway just before 6:15 a.m. Monday.

    Authorities reopened the airport at around 10:30 a.m. after removing the plane from the water.
