A New York City man is dead after he was gunned down by his younger brother during a fight at their Brooklyn apartment early Saturday.
Officers were flagged down to the second-floor apartment in Sheepshead Bay at around 2:30 a.m.
The 31-year-old victim was found sprawled out on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest and torso. He succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Police arrested the man’s younger brother for questioning. Neighbors said the victim lived with his mother and sister in the apartment. They said they didn’t even know the victim had a brother.
“He was a very nice young man. Very pleasant. He had a best friend, and they were always together,” a neighbor said of the victim.
The neighbors watched in disbelief as medics brought the man out of his apartment on a stretcher.
“He was a good neighbor. They’re good people. Very friendly people,” another resident said.
“This is so terrible. They never have any problems.”
