Georgia mom places newborn in trash bag; dumps him on back porch after giving birth

A Georgia mother is facing criminal charges after she allegedly abandoned her newborn in a trash bag on the back porch of her home earlier this week.

Alaynah Rappuhn. 22, suffered excessive bleeding after giving birth at her home on Monday, police said.

Her boyfriend took her to the hospital and returned to the home where he heard noises coming from the porch.

    Rappuhn allegedly hid her pregnancy and did not tell her boyfriend or the staff at the hospital when she was admitted.

    The infant was hospitalized in critical condition.

    The mother was released from the hospital on Tuesday and arrested. She was charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony murder, reckless abandonment of a child, and first-degree cruelty to children.
