A North Carolina mother and her 15-year-old son were killed earlier this week, a few days after they celebrated the woman’s older son’s release from jail.
Da’ron Donta Jenkins, 25, was charged with two counts of murder in connection to the Monday deaths of his mother, Dana, and younger brother, Daryn.
On March 25, Dana posted on Facebook, thanking God for Da’ron’s release from jail.
“My baby home. My mf [sic] baby!! My baby is home!! Lord, I thank u.”
“Welcome home, Big D,” a friend responded.
Police were called to the family’s home on Snowden Drive at around 5:30 p.m. Monday and found Dana and Daryn’s bodies.
Dana was remembered as a “great mom” who took care of her youngest son and was always smiling.
“I would have never thought that,” her cousin said. “I would never have thought he would do something like that.”
