A 5-year-old Florida boy is dead after he ingested methamphetamine through his apple juice container, authorities said.
Heather Opsincs has been charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection to the March 23 death of her son from a fatal drug overdose.
The autistic boy’s babysitter told cops that he grabbed a bottle of apple juice, took a sip, and then immediately spit it out, telling the sitter it “tasted weird.”
The boy went to the bathroom and returned “shivering and shaking”, with his lips turning blue.
Police said the babysitter alerted Opsincs, who was in the back of the apartment complex, and started CPR as the boy lost consciousness.
The boy had seizure-like symptoms, and his pulse faded. He was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t be saved.
Investigators said Opsincs tested positive for meth twice as did her deceased son. Police found meth in six glass pipes inside the mother’s filthy home.
