Nevada girl, 7, killed after being struck by fallen boulder at ski resort

A Nevada girl is dead after she was struck by a fallen boulder at a ski resort over the weekend, authorities said.

Adelyn Grimes, 7, was killed Saturday after the tragic incident at Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village. Her death was ruled an accident.

  • Paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 3:40 p.m. and provided life-saving measures to the girl.

    “Despite the emergency medical team’s best efforts, the child succumbed to their injuries,” the resort said in a statement.

    “There was no foul play involved, and the Sheriff’s Office extends our deepest condolences to all involved,” the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said.
