4 Texas sheriff’s office deputies die by suicide in just 6 weeks

Four Harris County Sheriff’s deputies died by suicide within the last six weeks, the department announced.

On Feb. 6, former deputy Long Nguyen was found dead, and the medical examiner’s office ruled the death a suicide.

Earlier this month, Deputy Christina Kohler was found dead from an apparent suicide after being reported missing.

    On March 19, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced that a department retiree died “from an apparent suicide”, marking “three for us within the span of a week.”

    Earlier this week, former Deputy William Bozeman was found dead in a suspected suicide.

    “Our hearts are heavy. We extend our deepest condolences to their families, colleagues, and friends. It’s a painful reminder that life is fragile and time is not promised. May they Rest in Peace,” Gonzalez said.
