Houston news, Texas news.

An elderly Texas woman was viciously mauled by a pit bull just days after another mauling incident that claimed the life of another woman.

Yvonne Randle, 76, was in her front yard on Southbridge Road Wednesday evening when two dogs rushed toward her.

The woman backed away, but one of the dogs began attacking her as she tried to fend the animal off.

“I was trying to reach the ground, maybe pick up a brick or something out of the flower bed, and he knocked me down,” Randle said.

“If nobody was out here and if I didn’t hear her from in there, it could have been a very, very, very, very different day,” her son said.

On Sunday, a 65-year-old Houston woman was mauled to death by three dogs after they wandered into her backyard through a fence.
