A woman died at a Vermont animal feed plant earlier this week after a 1,000-pound bag fell on her, officials said.
The tragic incident occurred Wednesday evening at Feed Commodities while the woman was operating a forklift that carried two-ton pallets of animal feed.
Investigators said the woman got off to repair a torn item when the one-ton bag fell on her.

Firefighters and officers administered life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after 5:50 p.m.
The medical examiner’s office determined the woman’s cause of death was asphyxia.
The victim was not immediately identified. An investigation is ongoing.
