2 dead, 4 injured in shooting at Tacoma juvenile party

Two people were killed and four others wounded in a shooting at a juvenile party in Tacoma, police said Saturday.

The shooting occurred just after midnight when deputies responded to the large house party to find dozens of patrons fleeing the scene and screaming.

“Multiple callers reported a fight broke out in the street,” the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Just before deputies arrived, shots were fired, and people and vehicles were fleeing the scene.”

    A male victim was pronounced dead in the street. Five others were rushed to area hospitals, where one died of his injuries.

    The victims ranged in age from 16 to 21. A juvenile suspect was taken into custody.

    “This is another grim reminder of how dangerous parties can be when things get out of hand,” the department added.
