A Chicago boy is behind bars after he allegedly beat and stabbed his 16-year-old girlfriend to death in a local park last week.
Cook County prosecutors said that on March 16, the 15-year-old suspect and Kaylah Love were spotted holding hands and leaving a McDonald’s blocks away from the crime scene.
A few minutes later, the boy allegedly attacked the girl at Horan Park, hitting her in the face and beating her with his feet and a glass bottle while she lay on the ground.
Police identified the boy through surveillance footage from the park and witness description.
Kaylah died from multiple traumatic injuries. Her badly beaten body was not located until the following day.
The girl was a Manley Career Academy High School student and planned to study culinary arts in college, even obtaining a food handlers’ certificate to get work experience this summer.
“She was on her way. A 16-year-old with a dream in life got taken away,” her grieving mother said.
