A Florida octogenarian took his own life after killing his wife and son at a retirement community, police said.
Pompano Beach authorities believe 80-year-old James Sheridan carried out a double murder-suicide in the Leisureville community days before the three bodies were discovered late Wednesday.

“The neighbors were very quiet people. We saw them coming and going, just a wave. Nobody really knew them,” neighbor Lauren Goltz said.
“They lived here renting for about a year. These people have been here like a year and they’re like strangers.”
Police did not immediately disclose the wife and son’s identities pending next-of-kin’s notification.
