‘A loss for Memphis’: Beloved pastor gunned down after argument with female shooter

Police in Memphis said a well-known pastor was shot and killed early Wednesday morning after an argument at a local bar.

Pastor Ricky Floyd was shot dead at Momma’s Bar and Kitchen in the 855 block of Kentucky Street at 1:14 a.m.

Police pronounced the victim, a pastor at the Pursuit of God Church, dead at the scene and arrested 42-year-old Samantha Marion.

Marion was reportedly involved in an argument with Floyd before the shooting; she has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

    Mayor Paul Young described the victim as “a beloved leader, friend, mentor, and servant to our city.”

    “He dedicated his life to lifting up others, guiding countless souls with his wisdom, faith, and unwavering commitment to our community,” the mayor wrote on social media.

    “His death is more than a loss for his family and his congregation – it is a loss for Memphis.”
