South Carolina authorities alleged that a mother brutally stabbed her newborn just after giving birth at an apartment complex Friday.
Easley Police and Pickens County EMS responded to the gruesome scene at around 8:30 p.m. and found a newborn boy with fatal injuries.
Police Chief Brandon Liner said An T Ngo murdered her baby, stabbing him several times with a metal letter opener before placing him in a trash bag she left in a different room.
“I’ve been doing this for two and a half decades, and I have never seen anything this gruesome,” Liner said. “I’ve never seen anything this bad.”
“It was very apparent that Miss Ngo is the one who tragically murdered this child.”
Ngo, who is currently hospitalized, has been charged with homicide by child abuse.
“We will speak for this baby. We will make sure that this baby will receive justice. It didn’t have a chance at life. Not long,” Liner added.
