Baltimore news, Maryland news.

Authorities in Baltimore are searching for the gunman who chased a 16-year-old boy onto the grounds of Lansdowne High School before fatally shooting him on Tuesday.

Officers rushed to a shopping center across the street from the school at 2:37 p.m., 30 minutes after school dismissal.

Police said the incident started at the shopping center, but the teen took off to the Lansdowne High School where he was shot several times.

The teen was transported to a hospital where he died. Investigators believe the victim was targeted and have obtained video evidence of the incident.

  • “I would like to emphasize that this incident did not initially occur on school property,” said Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough.

“It started in the shopping center up the street. This is an isolated incident and appears to be a very targeted incident. The suspect clearly targeted the victim and was after the victim in this case.”

“We continue to search for the suspect in this case. We do have plenty of video evidence and a good suspect description.”

The teen was reportedly a student at Lansdowne High School. The school was placed on lockdown and all afterschool activities were canceled after the shooting.
