SC woman dies after boyfriend doused her in gasoline; sets her on fire

A South Carolina woman succumbed to her burns days after her boyfriend allegedly set her on fire, police said.

Orangeburg County authorities announced the death of 60-year-old Michele Gillis from injuries sustained during the horrific Feb. 8 incident.

The victim told deputies the attack was unprovoked and occurred when her boyfriend, 60-year-old Harry Wolfe, returned home to find her sitting in the living room of their Edisto area home.

    Gillis suffered third-degree burns to her upper body and face. She died last Thursday.

    Wolfe was charged with murder and arson. He reportedly denied intending to kill his girlfriend and admitted that he “f--- up” while receiving treatment at a hospital.
