Two people were killed and a third hurt after a house fire in Midfield, Alabama early Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to a neighbor’s call reporting the blaze just before 7 a.m., officials said.

When Midfield Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the scene in the 1200 block of Woodfall Drive, they found the home engulfed in flames.
A man and his wife were pronounced dead at the scene while an elderly family member was pulled out of the house and taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Mayor Gary Richardson said the cause of the fire is under active investigation by Midfield fire officials and the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office.
