An Alabama mother has been charged in connection to the death of her newborn earlier this week.
Whitney Nicole Greene, 32, was charged with chemical endangerment of a child after her baby died during labor.
Anniston Police Chief Nick Bowles said that Greene was admitted to Regional Medical Center for a labor induction appointment on Monday.

Greene reportedly told staff she used fentanyl the previous day forcing them to perform an unplanned C-section that ended with the child’s death.
Bowles said doctors performed life-saving measures on the baby who did not survive.
Greene, who remains in the hospital, will be booked into the Calhoun County Jail upon release.
