Authorities in Mooresville have arrested a student who allegedly plotted to perpetrate a school massacre on Valentine’s Day.
Trinity Shockley, 18, was charged Wednesday with conspiracy to commit murder, intimidation, and threat to commit terrorism after investigators uncovered her alleged plot.
A search of her bedroom unveiled a disturbing collage of mass murderers, police said.
The teen was reportedly struggling with mental health issues. Her arrest led Mooresville School District officials to enforce a ban on her return to school.
“As always, mental health resources are available to all students of Mooresville Schools,” said Communications Director Susan Haynes.
“Families and students are encouraged to contact their school office with any questions.”
