Authorities in Highlands County, Florida are investigating the deaths of a family of three as a double murder-suicide Friday.
A concerned neighbor called authorities Friday seeking a wellness check on the family after they hadn’t been seen in a few days.
Deputies found the bodies of a couple and their 10-year-old son inside a home on N. Huckleberry Drive in Sebring.
Investigators determined that the woman shot her husband and son dead before turning the gun on herself.
“Detectives are working to piece together what led up to this tragedy,” Sheriff Paul Blackman said.
“I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with their mental health to please ask for help,”
“You can call 988 to speak to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at any time, and there will be someone waiting to assist you.”
