Connecticut man stabs wife to death; shoots mother-in-law in front of 2 children

A Connecticut man was arrested a day after he allegedly stabbed his wife to death and shot her mother in front of two children on Jan. 27.

Christopher Raye, 45, was charged with murder in connection to the death of Bryana Raye, 30, and the shooting of her mother who suffered injuries to her shoulder,

Police in New Britain responded to the couple’s home to find Bryana deceased with multiple stab wounds in the bedroom.

Authorities said the couple returned home with the children while Bryana’s mother talked on the phone with a relative, and then a scuffle began.

  • “He beat her, call 911,” the older woman asked the relative who heard Bryana scream “No Chris,” and four to six “loud bangs.”

    Another relative watched in horror as Raye allegedly started “stabbing [Bryanna] while on top of her with a bloody knife.”

    The witness said the couple’s two children “were watching this happen.” The man then kicked out Raye who fled the scene in his truck.

    Raye allegedly called a co-worker confessing that he did something “very un-normal” and that “something crazy happened.”
