4 teens killed; 5th injured after car crashes into tree in Alabama

A deadly single-car crash claimed the lives of four teens in Dallas County, Alabama Thursday, officials said.

A 2006 Toyota Avalon driven by an 18-year-old left the road on U.S. 80, nearly 10 miles east of Selma, and struck a tree around 6:30 p.m.

The driver, a Wetumpka resident, was killed along with four passengers. Police identified two 19-year-old victims as Isaiah D. McDade and Tyler O. Jones.

  • The fourth deceased victim was a 17-year-old. A 19-year-old survived the wreck and is currently being treated at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

    Alabama State Trooper Cpl. Reginald King said none of the passengers was wearing seatbelts.

    An investigation is ongoing and no additional details were made public.
