Elementary school student dies after coast gets stuck in vehicle door at drop-off

An elementary school student died Friday in a tragic accident at the school’s drop-off area, police in Borger said.

The second-grader’s coat got stuck in a vehicle door as they were being dropped off outside Gateway Elementary at around 8 a.m.

Life-saving measures were provided at the scene. The child was then taken to a local hospital where they died.
