A Houston man is accused of fatally shooting his younger brother Tuesday after several family arguments involving the victim’s girlfriend.
Police responded to the city’s northwest side where the two brothers, their mother, the younger brother’s girlfriend and their baby shared a home.
The first family disturbance was on Monday evening between the victim, in his 20s, and his girlfriend over a phone.
The older brother intervened in the couple’ s argument that ended with the younger brother leaving the home to cool off.
Hours later, the man returned and threatened the girlfriend bringing officers to the residence again. No charges were filed.
At about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to an assault report at the home but before they could arrive, the shooting had taken place.
Officers learned that the victim wanted to return to the home leading to an argument during which his mother fainted and hit her head.
The older brother, upset about his mother’s injuries, shot his younger sibling in the torso, killing him.
