A Washington DC man is behind bars after he allegedly admitted to stabbing his grandmother to death and claimed she was “a sacrifice for God”, police said.
Christopher Holness Jr. was arrested on Jan. 17 at Sandra Mundle’s apartment where he allegedly stabbed her 13 times in the chest before sending photos of her bloodied body lying on a bed to relatives.
“She had to die. She was a sacrifice,” the suspect reportedly told a relative, adding that he loved his 83-year-old victim.
“She’s no longer with us. Like I said, she was a sacrifice. A sacrifice for God.”
“Holness stated he stabbed her in the eye and sent a photograph of his deceased grandmother to [his family member] and other family members to confirm he did in fact kill his grandmother,” police said.
The family member told detectives Holness was diagnosed with Schizophrenia but couldn’t tell if he was taking his medication.
