An Indiana man allegedly admitted to killing his wife with a hammer after he “lost it” last week.
Terry Ogle, 79, allegedly bludgeoned his 76-year-old wife Mary Ogle to death on Jan. 17 before calling 911 and telling dispatchers directing him to do CPR that “It’s too late” and “She’s been down for a while.”
The victim was found covered with a blanket bleeding next to Ogle who was also bleeding from a self-inflicted wound to his wrist. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Ogle discussed details of the crime, admitting to “bludgeoning” the victim with a hammer and explaining that there was no argument leading to the violence.
“It’s a long story; I’ve been under depression for a while. So, we weren’t arguing. I just lost it. I think she’s having an affair. So, I lost it.”
Investigators said the suspect also sent his daughter a text that read “I’m going to jail. I killed Mary.”
