A Connecticut car dealership employee died earlier this month after he became trapped between a forklift and a truck, authorities said.
The tragic incident occurred at the Executive Dodge Jeep Ram Dealership in Wallingford on Jan. 10.
34-year-old Thomas Orris was operating a forklift to remove a container off a truck on a slanted driveway when he got out of the vehicle for an unknown reason.
The forklift rolled down the driveway and Orris followed it, trying to stop it with his hands but he ended up getting trapped between the forklift and the truck.
Life-saving measures were administered at the scene but Orris succumbed at the hospital.
The business will be closed Monday to allow employees to attend their colleagues’ funeral services.
“Will be closed to honor and attend funeral services for our beloved friend and co-worker,” the dealership said in a statement.
“We appreciate your understanding during this time as we come together to remember and celebrate their life.”
