North Dakota man, 64, pinned to building, crushed to death while towing away truck

A North Dakota man was crushed to death after getting pinned between his truck and a building late Thursday.

The tragic incident occurred in rural McHenry County at around 9 p.m. when the 64-year-old’s pickup truck went off the road and landed in a ditch.

Police said a 74-year-old motorist stopped to help tow the truck out of the ditch.

  • The two men worked together to tow the pickup truck out of the ditch and were getting it close to a building when the victim stepped out of the vehicle without alerting the motorist.

    The driver unknowingly pinned the victim into the building, crushing him. The victim was extricated and rushed to a hospital where he died.

    The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
