A Kentucky girl is dead after she suffered horrific injuries while in the care of a babysitter last week.
Malayah Banks, 18-month-old, died from severe injuries and skull fractures described by a pediatrician as the “worst she’s ever seen” while in the care of 20-year-old Terrance Corbin.
On Jan. 7, the victim and her brother were with Corbin when the babysitter called their mother to say that Malayah “was not breathing properly.”
He then called 911 to report that Malayah “was not breathing at all.” The girl died two days later.
“It’s not a good feeling at all,” Malayah’s father, Demond Banks, said. “I can’t, I can’t describe that.”
Police said that “Terrance wantonly and intentionally acted in a manner that resulted in the death of Malayah.”
“That’s what you’re here for. To protect her, and my son too, but it was different. You know that’s my daughter,” the grieving father said.
“I could turn around, look back, and then my daughter would be like ‘Daddy!’. You know, she runs up and gives me a hug, always happy.”
