Colorado girl, 16, gunned down during home invasion

A 16-year-old Colorado girl is dead after she was fatally shot during a home invasion early Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a West Aurora apartment at around 6 a.m. Tuesday and found Audrina Arrington suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Police arrested Cooper Miller, 35, David Gunion, 51, and April Chevon Collingwood, 44, in connection to the incident.

  • The three suspects were recruited by a woman to recover stolen items from the apartment when Arrington’s father confronted them.

    The two men and the father exchanged gunfire, fatally striking the girl who was visiting her father at the time of the incident.

    Miller and Gunion were charged with second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and attempted aggravated robbery.

    Collingwood was charged with complicity to commit second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and attempted aggravated robbery.
