Texas authorities are looking for a second suspect in connection to the killing of a man during a Facebook deal turned bad on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies with the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to a home in Bridgestone Pine Court at around 3:22 p.m.
They located a man, later identified as 39-year-old Dat Truong, unconscious in the driveway, without shoes.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said three individuals arrived at the home that afternoon to meet with Truong after he arranged to sell them something on Facebook.
Surveillance footage showed two individuals stepping out of the car and discussing with Truong before things turned violent.
The two suspects slammed Truong to the ground, hit his head, dragged him across the concrete, and went through his pockets before taking off with stolen items.
Truong later succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested 17-year-old Jose Soto and are looking for the second suspect.
“That’s definitely a dangerous business, especially at your house,” said Sgt. Sidney Miller.
“If you’re going to be doing selling anything online, I would recommend that you meet these people, either at a police station or some type of area where there’s, you know, people around and someone there with you.”
