President-elect Donald Trump admitted the conversation he had with former President Barack Obama at Jimmy Carter’s funeral looked “very friendly.”
The affectionate exchange between Trump and Obama was one of the moments that caught viewers’ attention during the somber service.
Trump noted that he saw TV coverage of the event and learned about the speculations his conversation with the former Democratic president sparked online.
“It did look very friendly, I must say,” Trump said after his return to Mar-a-Lago.
“I didn’t realize how friendly it looked. I said, ‘Boy, they look like two people who like each other’ and we probably do.”
“We have little different philosophies right, but we probably do.”
The President-elect did not reveal what he and Obama discussed.
“I don’t know. We just got along. But I got along with just about everybody,” he added.
