A Utah father is accused of killing his 4-month-old daughter who died from a “catastrophic” brain bleed late last month.
The baby was unresponsive when brought to Primary Children’s Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Doctors determined the baby’s brain bleed was the result of “non-accidental Abusive Head Trauma.”
After interviewing the infant’s mother, detectives learned that the baby was fine until her father, Nichiolas James Horsley, took her into a room.
When he came out about 10 to 10 minutes later, the baby was “completely lifeless and not breathing.”
Detectives also found marijuana on a table at the couple’s home within the reach of their other two children, aged 6 years old and 18-month-old.
The 27-year-old father was arrested Friday and charged with child abuse homicide and endangerment of a child.
