A California mother was arrested Sunday after the body of her missing 11-year-old son was found inside a trailer at an RV park, police said.
Meagan Dixon, 44, was on drugs when she got into an altercation with neighbors checking on her son who had been missing for several days.
Sutter County Sheriff Brando Barnes said deputies responded to the scene at around 10 a.m. to reports of an altercation and ended up discovering the body of the missing boy.
The child appeared to have died from suffocation several days earlier. A neighbor said he was homeschooled and possibly suffered from autism.
She described him as the “sweetest little boy, just absolutely loving.”
Deputies also found three deceased dogs; one in the trailer where the boy’s body was located and two others in Dixon’s vehicle.
