A father and his two young children were found shot to death inside a burning Kansas City home late Thursday, police said.
Zachary Hatcher, 39; and his 6-year-old daughter Charlotte were pronounced dead at the scene. 8-year-old Jeffery Hatcher succumbed at a hospital.
Officers responding to a welfare check request arrived at the family’s home on NW 91st Terrace near Belleview Avenue at around 9:45 p.m.

Once at the scene, the officer spotted flames inside the residence and called firefighters.
After the fire was put out, the officers discovered the victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
