An estranged Mississippi couple was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide days after Christmas, authorities said.
On Dec. 28, concerned relatives found the bodies of Jennifer and Brandon Sheffield, aged 30 and 40, inside their home.
Investigators later determined that Brandon shot his wife before taking his own life.

According to Faye Lott, a friend of Jennifer, the couple shared two children and had just begun the divorce process.
“He’s never been a violent person that I was ever aware of,” she said of Brandon describing him as an “amazing person.”
“I was with her when they met, and I’ve always loved him for how he loved her. So it’s definitely hard trying to understand something we will never be able to.”
